Portion of an angry letter I wrote MillerCoors & their advertising agency, after deciding getting angry on twitter didn’t make up for 22 weeks of endless bullshit:

“I will never forgive you for this endless parade of miserable caricatures, tired, insecure implications of masculinity, gender, and sexuality. True to the slogan, the vast majority of these commercials carries essentially the same message: If you are not drinking Miller Light, you are less of a man. This is nonsense, but it is a savage kind of nonsense.  It puts straight men in little rooms, slamming the doors in the face of men who love their mothers, wear skinny jeans, tight bathing suits, or even a bag to carry their things. It is always tempting to dismiss these things as no big deal. Tempting to say it’s a 30 second joke, no harm, no foul. I cannot do that. This little room, this box that is built with the rules of masculinity, is furnished with fear and hatred. Those within must fear enjoying the wrong song, buying the wrong bathing suit or pair of jeans, or admitting that they love their mothers. It fosters a hostility towards those on the outside, a hostility reinforced by the mockery presented in your commercials. It is the worst of all worlds; it limits the lives of men willing to live within, and punishes those who try to live on the outside.”
